NAVTEQ, a navigation system company has done research about traffic jam and its relation with navigation system. In the study conducted in Dusseldorf and Munich, they compare 3 types of drivers. Drivers without navigation system, drivers with static navigation system and drivers with navigation system completed with real time traffic report. The result shows that the drivers with real time traffic navigation system can save time up to 18% compared to drivers without navigation. At least they can save 4 days in a year. More than just saving time, with proper navigation system we could also cut off gas emmision until 21%. A good news for global warming issues. |
